Anarkali Check

I started using hand painted and hand printed papers from India when a friend of mine brought me some from her trip to Mumbai.

I love the feel of the paper, the grain, the imperfection created by the paper making process, the colours and patterns that are all unique to each piece of paper produced. They are works of art in themselves.

I found it quite easy to paint on them using acrylic paints, without having to prime the paper first.

I kept to the Indian theme and used images from India to create some artwork.
